Are you interested in history and culture? Then Fort Kijkduin is a must! This historic fort from the time of Napoleon is just fifteen minutes drive from the campsite. In addition to discovering the history of the fort, you can also visit the North Sea Aquarium here, where you'll come face to face with sea creatures such as sharks and rays.

Just a short distance from the ferry port in Den Helder, you can take a day trip to the Wadden Island of Texel. Texel offers a great combination of nature, cozy villages, and adventurous outings, such as climbing the iconic lighthouse or visiting Ecomare, where you can see seals and learn more about the wadden area.

An educational and fun day out with the whole family, the Marine Museum in Den Helder is a great choice. Discover the maritime history of the Netherlands and step aboard real naval ships. Children can have fun in the interactive exhibits, while adults can learn more about the adventures of the Dutch Navy.
